The Power of Connections
Allison Guidette, Chief Executive Officer, G2 Web Services

The digital payments ecosystem is a complex, interconnected and ever-changing network that is exploited by criminals but can also be leveraged by risk professionals to defeat them. Merchant fraud is evolving at lighting pace, often leading to powerful global crime syndicates set up to evade legacy risk and compliance strategies. Sophisticated bad actors, working in groups across many acquirers, are not stopped but merely slowed or redirected by our efforts to stop them. To defeat savvy fraud rings, today’s risk professionals need to break down silos within their firms and harness the data and power of the entire payments community. Allison will walk through four key risks in the payments ecosystem and make the case for the power of connections: each risk team, compliance group, PSP, gateway, service provider and card network has a piece of the puzzle that gives us all the clearest picture of merchant risk and helps promote safe, profitable commerce.

Transaction Laundering Trends & Best Practices
Deana Rich, President, Rich Consulting, and Gavin Andrews, Principle Product Manager, G2 Web Services

Transaction laundering is a growing threat to e-commerce and deserves commensurate attention by financial institutions. Culprits target unprepared acquirers and processors to commit fraud and brand damaging activity. Transaction laundering violates merchant agreements with acquirers, allows prohibited goods and services to enter the payment system, flouts anti-money-laundering (AML) laws, and is being taken seriously by card brands. Deana Rich of Rich Consulting and our own Gavin Andrews will cover recent examples of transaction laundering in the news and beyond and leave you with some best practices for keeping your portfolio clean.
